Business cards are wasteful. You print 500, hand out maybe 50, and the rest sit in a drawer. The people who receive them either lose them or manually type the contact info into their phones.
Neos Vcard replaces this entire workflow with a tap.
The Product Vision
A professional taps their NFC-enabled card (or shows a QR code), and the recipient instantly sees a beautifully designed digital profile — complete with contact info, social links, portfolio, and a "Save to Contacts" button. No app required. Just a web browser.
What I Built
Card Builder with Live Preview — Users design their digital card through an intuitive editor. They see changes reflected in real time on a phone mockup preview. The builder supports multiple layouts, color themes, and custom fields.
NFC & QR Code Integration — Each card gets a unique URL. This URL can be encoded onto NFC chips or generated as QR codes. When scanned or tapped, it opens the digital profile instantly.
Profile Pages — The shared profile is a fast-loading, mobile-optimized page. It includes the user's photo, title, contact information, social media links, and any custom sections they've added.
PDF Export — Some contexts still require a physical card. Users can export their digital card design as a printable PDF.
PWA Support — The platform works as a Progressive Web App, allowing users to access their card editor from their phone's home screen.
Design Challenge: First Impressions
A digital business card is often the first interaction someone has with you professionally. The design must feel premium. I spent considerable time on micro-interactions, smooth transitions, and ensuring the profile pages load under 2 seconds on mobile connections.
Impact
Neos Vcard is now used by corporate teams across the organization. It's eliminated the need for printed business cards entirely — saving costs and creating a more professional first impression.
